An embroidered patch of the Celtic symbol the Triskele. The patch has a textile black base with white and grey embroidered details.
Size: approx. 8cm across
The Triskele, also known as a Triskelion is a very ancient Celtic Triple Spiral symbol. As the Triskele is a very ancient symbol stemming back to neolithic times its meaning is very mysterious and debatable. Its meaning has been attributed to the triple goddess, the holy trinity, the power of three, motion, birth/life/rebirth, triple moon and many other trinity based entities.
Instructions for attaching:
The back of this patch has an iron-on layer. Although this allows you to attach the patch to your textile garment or accessory, sewing on the patch will have a better result. Also your textile may be heat sensitive in which case you must sew the patch on directly without ironing it. If your textile can handle the heat of the iron, ironing the patch to the textile can help you get the patch in the right position before sewing. Place the patch on the desired spot. Place a piece of baking paper or an old piece of textile over the patch. Set your iron to the cotton setting and turn the steam setting off. Hold the iron firmly on the patch for approx. 30 seconds. Allow it to cool for a couple of minutes then turn the textile to the reverse side. Repeat the process on the other side.
